TREASURE HUNTER MAGNIFIQUE

Featured Dealer: Swan Song

Long-time dealer, Coronado designer & former flight attendant, Susie of ‘Swan Song’ honed her skills for tracking down the crème de la crème of antiques & vintage décor thru years of extensive airline travel & now reaps the rewards of having an expertly developed, haute superior trained eye that spots, at lightning speed, the highly-sought-after pieces de la resistance!
Whether she finds herself in Long Beach, New England, or a brocante in Paris, she has the gift of brilliant & strategic hunting/gathering & always manages to unearth & claim, the tres, au courant prize of the day.
Her space with its’ following of advanced collectors, well-known designers & many repeat customers offers an amazing, well-edited selection of French, Italian & Spanish Colonial antiques; chinoiserie, rare French needlepoint chairs, toile de Jouy, paper mache & tole trays & toujours, beaucoup, vintage garden furniture & architectural salvage that is completely out of the ordinary. Her decorative accessories with a European flair are spilling out of birdbaths, piled high on old wooden benches & tucked inside rare, Victorian birdcages. Her lighting collection ranges from Italian tole chandeliers to Spanish Colonial lanterns & Italian Florentine sconces.
One of her most phenomenal, fabulous finds of all time, were three, (oui – three!) 1920’s, 3 feet tall, Italian tole parasol/umbrellas that were completely covered in painted, pastel tole flowers! These props, from a 1920’s wedding, were floral & metal masterpieces, the likes of which none of us had ever seen before. They sold the same day she brought them in & have to be one of her greatest coups ever!
Her classic, vintage décor has gone out to Hollywood estates, wineries, upscale restaurants, cruise lines & designers all over the US.
Her merveilleux talent over the years to excavate les diamonds in the rough & her unparalleled eye for detail & luxe treasure have made her, one, very major player in the business & will remain her unique signature & beautifully enduring….Swan Song.
Jusqu’a la fois prochaine.
