Magnificent Obsession - Coco Chanel!

“There is no substitute for STYLE”
Chanel
Is there any other name in haute couture & Parisian fashion than the legendary Coco Chanel, who revolutionized the way women look & dress forever?
To me she is the most fascinating woman in fashion history & style’s greatest career woman. Ah Oui. I am obsessed.
From a penniless start, she began her career making hats & then defied all the odds & turned style into her own personal brand by inventing evening wear, sportswear, costume jewelry, perfume & never to be forgotten - the little black dress. Those 4 words defined & changed the course of Parisian haute couture forever.
Her creative force, brilliant focus & unmatched style produced
original, never before seen creations that wowed the entire world.
So many fascinating tidbits: The House of Chanel ingeniously used precious stones & jewels because “they provided the greatest value in the smallest volume”, however, to make sure that women would still buy the artificial pearls that CoCo was so famous for, she steadfastly advocated mixing fakes with real. She said that “the point of jewelry isn’t to make a woman look rich but to adorn her, not the same thing”. Then CoCo brilliantly conceived the idea of making individual pieces of high-end jewelry convertible. All her more elaborate pieces could be taken apart. The tiaras turned into bracelets, the eardrops into brooches, the stars into buckles!
Tres Extraordinaire!
Her brilliance just goes on & on to inspire & fascinate. She knew exactly what she was born to do.
This fashion legend with endless appeal who's name epitomizes timeless chic seems the Perfect Couture Inspiration for
the upcoming holiday season at Vignettes so…..
Stay Tuned Mes Amies -
We Hope To WoW You!

Wasn't she just the most amazing woman? The fact that she understood the concept that the jewels should be what adorns a woman...brilliantly said! I worked in the bridal industry for years and carried a line of tiaras that converted to necklaces and bracelets...how romantic to be able to wear your wedding tiara again on special occasions.
Can't wait to see the fun stuff to come...I know it will be over the top!
