Among all the uber talented women in our far-reaching creative arts community, there is someone who truly stands out.

She is the amazingly gifted Kim Caldwell of Artistic Bliss Designs ~ the beloved super-star of the craft and design world who has taken her themed art events in Southern California to all new levels of creative nirvana.

What started out as scrapbooking classes and opening up her home for paper art exchanges has metamorphosed into one of the most highly anticipated weekend retreats for themed art events in the U.S.

Her passion for creating and sharing led to these inspiring weekends where women from all over the country come together at the famous Belamar Hotel in Manhatten Beach to learn from and interact with all the top names in the creative universe while simultaneously bonding with other kindred spirits in the community. Friendships are made, new techniques are learned, creative abandon is unleashed and attendees leave on a spectacular, artistic high note that makes this an experience to remember for a lifetime.

Kim’s upcoming themed event in May ~ “An Affaire at Tiffany’s" sold out in record time as the word about these amazing retreats spreads. From the ever popular “art exchanges” and workshops, to art classes and interactive forums, the collaboration of creative people coming together elevates each and every participant to all new levels of extraordinary.

In addition to all the creativity your heart, mind and soul can hold, on the last day of the weekend affaire, Kim includes an optional shopping adventure for the group to take part in, complete with rock star touring bus for the ultimate luxury travel. Vignettes has been honored twice now to host this amazing group of women for their power shopping extravaganza.

For the upcoming ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ inspired theme, we've loved every minute of preparing for their arrival, keeping Audrey Hepburn in mind at all times, of course. We aim to please and Holly Golightly is definitely smiling.

Summer Begins at Vignettes

If you look up ‘stylist’ in the dictionary, you’ll find the above definition ~ with Sandra Finn’s picture right next to it!  Yes, Mademoiselle Finn, of Chateau et Industriel Francais, is one red haute designer, a powerhouse of imaginative ideas and designs and one who continually delights and amazes all of us here at the shop and her throngs of devoted fans.

Think of the brainchild of Anthropology and Jeanne d’Arc Living combined with the sheer genius of Alexander McQueen and you might begin to scratch the surface of her talent. She is the curator of a very unique brand of stylish chic, a creator of stunning and evocative interiors and a master at editing, that illusive quality of knowing exactly what to leave out.

Her brilliant take on French Industrial evokes a winter day in Paris with sunlight bathing its’ inhabitants. The weathered palette of distressed greys and old whites that she mixes with linens, French burlap, aging woods and tarnished metals offers a tactile beauty for all of the senses. She takes the most humble items and transforms them into natural works of art; under glass, suspended in time and always provocatively revealed in her visual diaries. Be it printed matter, weathered maps, architectural drawings, paint brushes thick with paint, twig nests, French books or any of her found objects - they are always creatively repurposed into compelling theater for the soulful.

In Sandra’s deconstructed decorating universe, raw natural beauty and timeworn patinas define her weathered brand of chateau décor.  

Recently her styling savoir-faire was featured on Fox Live San Diego in a segment on romantic home décor, where she staged her unique decorative accessories and fabulous home décor to the delight of all their viewers.

VIP guest.

Our selections are as stunning as a wildflower bouquet.
